David L. Olive, M.D.

Dr. David Olive is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is also certified in advanced gynecologic laparoscopy and hysteroscopy by the Accreditation Council of Gynecologic Endoscopy.

Dr. Olive received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX in 1979. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University, Chicago, IL and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at Duke University, Durham, NC. Dr. Olive was previously a faculty member at the University of Arkansas, the University of Texas, Professor and Chief of Reproductive Endocrinology at Yale University, and more recently Professor, Chief of reproductive Endocrinology, and Vice Chairman of Academic Development at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Olive has authored more than 300 publications in scientific journals and the popular press. He has acted as a editor of reviewer for over 20 professional journals, and has been an investigator on numerous scientific grants. He has lectured extensively around the world on topics such as infertility, endometriosis, fibroids, and clinical epidemiology. Dr. Olive is a highly sought endoscopic surgeon, and has operated by invitation on six continents. He is a past president of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the AAGL/SRS Fellowship in Gynecologic Endoscopy.

Dr. Olive is currently named to the list of both Top Doctors in America and Best Doctors in America. He has been so honored for the last 6 years. In addition, he is an oral examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a consultant to numerous pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Recently he was named to the steering committee to develop a maternal-child health center in Leogane, Haiti, to which he devotes considerable time and effort.

Elizabeth A. Pritts, M.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Pritts is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both General Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, a distinction held by fewer than 1000 in the country and only 8 in Wisconsin.

Dr. Pritts, M.D. received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated Cum Laude. She received her Medical degree, graduating in the top 10% of her class from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. She did her residency at Yale University, and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California – San Francisco. Dr. Pritts also took the unprecedented step of completing a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy at Yale University.

Dr. Pritts’ past academic appointments include Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Wisconsin Medical School, Madison WI; Clinical Fellow, University of California at San Francisco; Instructor, Yale University School of Medicine.

Professional Honors include: World congress of Endometriosis Annual Meeting, March 2002, First Prize Paper; Marine Biological Laboratory, One of 16 international scholars for the course “Frontiers in Reproduction” May-July 1999; Yale New Haven Hospital, “Special Excellence in Endoscopic Procedures” award to the outstanding laparoscopist of the graduating class of OB/GYN Residency 1998; Yale New Haven Hospital, “Outstanding Clinician in the class, 1997 and 1998.”

Dr. Pritts is the author of 28 scientific publications and has lectured across America on a variety of topics related to reproduction and fertility. She has a longstanding interest in adolescent hormonal issues, and is nationally recognized for her expertise in the treatment of fertility, fibroids, and endometriosis. She is one of the premier female endoscopic surgeons in America. She has been honored as one of Madison’s Top doctors since her arrival here in 2002.

Wael Abdel Megid M.D., MSc., Ph.D. HCLD

Dr. Wael Megid, M.D., Ph.D., as both a physician and scientist, has had a longtime interest in assisted reproduction. His combination of medical training in obstetrics and gynecology as well as his many years of expert training and experience in ART techniques provide a unique foundation for development of a high-quality laboratory environment.

Dr. Megid received his Medical degree from Cairo University in 1995. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at El-Galaa Teaching Hospital, one of the largest and busiest hospitals in Egypt. Following completion of his residency, Dr. Megid moved to the laboratory where he worked as senior embryologist and then was personally responsible for opening and directing three IVF laboratories in Cairo, performing over 1000 cycles of IVF per year.

Dr. Megid earned his Master’s degree of advanced studies in Clinical Embryology from Danube University of Krems, Austria and also received his PhD degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has published numerous professional manuscripts on human infertility and effects of oxidative stress on DNA fragmentation. He has also attended and presented his work several times at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the Middle East Fertility Society (MEFS) and the Alpha Society of Reproductive Medicine.

Dr. Megid’s many years of laboratory experience as well as his postgraduate training in human embryology have resulted in expertise in micromanipulation techniques such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), laser assisted hatching (AH), preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), and cryopreservation techniques for sperm, eggs, and embryos. Dr. Megid is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB) and the AAB’s College of Reproductive Biology (CRB). His laboratory has been certified by the College of American Pathologists. Dr. Megid has been certified by the American Board of Bioanalysts as a High Complexity Lab Director (HCLD).
